Every senior should have a home that's safe for their needs, whether they're living on their own or with a family member.
Every 11 seconds a senior walks into a hospital emergency room because of a fall-related injury. With a safe home environment, falls can be prevented and seniors can enjoy greater mobility and health well into their retirement years. In addition, a safer home makes it easier for senior friends to visit, for improved social and emotional well-being.
I have received the Senior Home Safety Specialist™ designation which is provided by Age Safe® Canada. Training includes education on home safety, fall prevention, fire safety, home modifications, and crime prevention.

A Complete Top to Bottom Assessment of the Home. Specific safety considerations are taken into account for people with Alzheimer’s Disease or other dementias. I also take into consideration if there are any limitations of a physical (mobility) or sensory nature that need to be accommodated or taken into account in the home.
You will receive a PDF Assessment Report. You can view the report from anywhere using a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. The report includes colour photos of the defects, colour illustrations, and recommendations.
Many of the things I will recommend you can do yourself or I can recommend a handyman to ensure your safety and the safety of a loved one.
