Final Review Working with Desiree was an exceptional experience. As a single parent of a child with special needs, there are often extra barriers and assumptions made in the housing process — even though discrimination is not supposed to happen, the reality is that it still does. Because of that, I needed someone who would understand our situation fully and advocate for us with care and integrity. Desiree did exactly that — and far beyond. She took the time to genuinely learn about me and my son. She considered my work-from-home needs, my son’s sensory needs and special interests, and the daily realities of our routines. She also ensured I had a safe and accessible space for my bike, which is essential for both transportation and managing my health. My situation required additional documentation and communication with the landlord. Desiree handled every step with patience, clarity, and professionalism. She advocated directly to make sure my medical accommodation needs related to chronic illness and mobility were understood and approved by the building — something that would not have happened without her. She ensured we were treated with dignity, not reduced to paperwork or assumptions. What meant the most was her compassion. She didn’t just assist us — she stood with us. She showed up with real care, humanity, and respect. She truly saw us. There is so much more I could say about Desiree, but I am trying not to write an entire essay. What matters most is this: she is rare. She is someone who advocates with her whole heart, and we are deeply grateful to have crossed paths with her. Desiree was amazing to work with when searching for an apartment in Toronto. She responded quickly, spent countless hours helping in my search for a place to rent, and supporting me in my move. Désirée has been super helpful in getting me a place in downtown Toronto amongst all the competition. She was always punctual and adapts to your needs (location, time range, budget, etc). I moved to Toronto last year and connected with Desiree to help me find an apartment. Although it was very last minute, she was incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. Since I hadn’t yet arrived in the country, we had virtual meetings, and she was always accommodating. She always made sure I understood each listing, including the pros and cons. I would like to thank Desiree for the sale of my home. From our first meeting I was impressed with her professionalism and expertise. Her presentation was detailed and precise, that I felt confident I had chosen the right person. Throughout the entire process she remained in contact and prompted to answer any concerns I had. She was efficient and effective in the preparation of the house, the de-cluttering, the cleaning and any repairs needed. Desiree was always there with her support and confidence.
